GMC Safari
I need to get some better pictures, but here's my pride and joy, Marcia Marcia Marcia. Marcia for short. A 1995 GMC Safari AWD with 69k original miles when I got her. Mostly original interior. The back had been partially built out for camping but luckily they kept the original bench seats and included those in the sale. I removed the laminate flooring that had been installed and put in a temporary shag carpet. I'd like to find some higher quality flooring for the long term.
I do the usual regular maintenance: oil changes, air filter, brakes, shocks, etc., but since she's getting up in age I've had to do some bigger repairs. I had the a/c compressor replaced and now it blows nice and cold. The fuel pump was failing so I had to drop the tank to replace it and that is not a job I want to do again anytime soon. More preventative than needed, but I've also replaced the spark plugs & wires, distributor cap, headlights, front speakers, rear lift supports, passenger door handle and window motor, added some mudflaps, and did a full front end rebuild.
I'd like to do a 2" lift at some point, but that will be kinda costly and require replacing the composite leaf springs with later model steel ones so I've been putting that off. Someday.
A neat little upgrade I did was adding Bluetooth and AUX input capabilities to the original stereo. I might do a more in-depth writeup about that later.
